I’m from Lewiston, Idaho. I’m sure you know that the Snake River runs right through Lewiston. I remember cutthroat being a big deal. They are beautiful fish and we would always be so excited when we got one. I have to confess-although I’ve been around fishing my entire life, I haven’t heard of a couple of those species. Thanks for your information. I really like your blog and will be checking it regularly.

Thanks for your comment. If you have caught a wild cutthroat you will understand my fascination and respect for the species. They are hard figters and one of the most beautiful species of trout in my humble opinion.

Combine that with sheer beauty of the environment that cutthroat, especially the native Wyoming cutthroat, and you have a fly fishers dream come true.
